Benjamin Bradshaw

Ben Bradshaw (1991) is an Interdimensional Artist from St. Louis, MO. He received his BFA in Sculpture from Kansas City Arts Institute (2014) and his MFA in Textiles/Ceramics from Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville (2021). In 2020, Bradshaw began a series of ephemeral neon yarn installations at many STL spaces including the Sheldon, Techartista, and ‘Ssippi. Along with these installations, he has studied many processes and mediums including psychedelic animation, ceramics, metal-work, wearable soft-sculpture, intuitive drawing, music and abstract landscape painting.

Bradshaw’s paintings deal with the abstracted landscape of internal ‘psychic’ space. They are developed from a practice of flow-symmetry that is meant to reference the forces of water, the growth of plant matter and the deep time of geology. They are meant to be both mirror (of the mind of the viewer) and window (to the nature of the universe). The paintings do not try to solve any human issues but instead try to provide a calming yet energetic reflection of ourselves in space and time.
